\ˈȯ-gər\ is Augur is Inaugurate

This is the inaugural post of "Aquanette and Bermingham". Our intention in creating this blog is to allow access to, and the ability to follow, dualities within an artist's singular self. There is no formula; no concrete mission; no enlightened oracle lying prostrate on the floor and convulsing truths (well, occasionally Aquanette might do that...and you better listen!). It's just Aqua and I, presenting process, product, inspirations, and occasionally some links to other internet destinations. We hope you enjoy following this mess as much as Aquanette enjoys creating it (and please don't steal any of our work without contacting us first or Aqua...and our legal system...will seriously maim you). Enjoy.

Aquanette and I felt that for our first post, we would pay homage to the designer, Alexander McQueen. We had a lot of time to think about him during our two hour wait in line at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's record breaking show "Savage Beauty", and decided he'd be a good place to start.

Dave's McQueen:
I'd fallen in admiration of McQueen as an art student at MassArt and he quickly became a go-to for inspiration. about a year or two after I started working at the Boston boutique, Alan Bilzerian, I was lucky enough to meet and quickly chat with Mr. McQueen as he rushed through Boston, fresh on his way from researching family in Salem, Ma. He was cordial and down-to-earth, I couldn't believe an idol was standing in front of me... so I sold him a cheap Tibetan skull bracelet and he went on his way grimacing.
I couldn't help but get angry at that homely guy in a tight shearling coat as I walked the halls of this exhibition; I felt like I had lost a friend. I guess we all did in a way. These sketches are in honor of him and his continued impact on my outlook towards creating.
